Dr. Dorsett is a Foster Care Alumni who spent 16 years of her childhood in foster care until she aged out after high school. She worked at a state and national level with Foster Care Alumni of America, FosterClub and the National Foster Care & Alumni Policy Council. She has assisted with in curriculum, trainings and research in foster care and juvenile justice. Dr. Dorsett is a member of several advisement boards in foster care and juvenile justice, one of them being Texas C.A.S.A. She gained her education at Texas A&M University-Commerce and Prairie View A&M University retiring from being a professor and currently serves as the Transition Manager for young adults at a private group home in Texas.
