Years in care: 7 At the age of 7, Taylor and her brother were removed from living in a car with a mother who was a drug addict. From the age of 8-18, Taylor was in and out of the foster care system. Throughout placements, Casey Family Programs provided mental, physical and financial support. Casey gave her an opportunity to get involved in the community; such as Rake up Boise for 3 years, Mini Joys volunteer work, Christian Concert volunteer work, homeless shelter volunteer work.Taylor remained in care until her 18th birthday, but was blessed with a loving family she chose to be adopted into on National Adoption day in 2015 as an adult. Taylor is currently a Casey Family Scholar senior at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating in April with her Bachelors in Finance and Economics, then beginning her pursuit of an MBA there with an emphasis in Finance. Taylor lives in Phoenix working at the Arizona Grand Resort. Although she moved from Idaho to Arizona, she holds a leadership position on the Idaho Foster Youth Advisory Board for the 2 years of her 5 year membership. She speaks on panels, in trainings, and travels in an effort to improve the foster care system and develop necessary policies. She is currently close with her biological and adoptive families. Taylor is passionate, tenacious, and always positive.
