About this resource

Launched in academic year 2016-17, Alabama is investing in the post-secondary education and training goals of youth who were in the foster care system when they earned a high school diploma or GED, as well as those adopted from Alabama foster care after age 14. The comprehensive program covers tuition and fees for eligible students enrolled full-time in a post-secondary certificate or undergraduate (associate or bachelor’s) degree program; additionally, it will help eligible high school students begin planning ahead.

  • You must have earned your high school diploma and or your general education diploma (GED) before leaving care after the age of 14
