What is "PeerUp!"?
PeerUp! is a pilot program where youth who have been in foster care the opportunity to connect with peers, peer leaders and community members acting as volunteer PeerUp! mentors, while building knowledge and skills for life success! At weekly meetings, youth and volunteers will go on adventures, learn and laugh together, and discover new skills along the way.
Who can come?
Youth ages 10 to 21 who are in foster care, former foster care youth or have had any experience with the foster care system including kinship and other forms of care.
Volunteer adults willing to participate in ongoing training, attend activities, meetings, and events in the capacity of a mentor and community connection. You must be able to pass a background check and willing to be trained and work with staff. Give us a call if you are interested in volunteering, first!
Where is this happening?
Currently, we are piloting the program, so it is only available at FosterClub Headquarters. We plan to share this in the future so watch for more information on this page!
